Starbucks’ corporate architect, Tony Gale, is overseeing a new global store design strategy. Future stores will be different from the ubiquitous coffee houses we’ve all come to rely on in a couple of ways. First, they will ditch a “one size fits all” design scheme in favor of one that’s tailored to specific regions. Secondly, new stores will be greener and more minimalist. The end result will be stores that utilize fewer materials and leave a smaller footprint in construction.
One example of this new global store design strategy can be found in the coffee giant’s new Toronto prototype, which was built to LEED standards. See more photos of the store below.
