Located in Kyoto, Japan, the T-House was designed by Japan-based, New Zealand born architect Atelier Boronski. Due to stringent local design regulations, the design was significantly impacted by location. The walls, the roof, the siding and color of the house were all impacted by these regulations. However, the result isn’t void of creativity and inventiveness. Despite these challenges, the design as able to be quite distinctive, despite its boxy shape that resembles a simple container. Inside, the floor Living, Dining, Kitchen area on the first floor opens onto the main terrace facing the garden to the east allowing classical indoor/outdoor living.
