The new Umeå School of Architecture, located in Umeå, Sweden, was designed by Henning Larsen Architects. The mission of the design was to provide a framework for inspiration and innovation. Its exterior features a cubic expression with a vibrant, rhythmic sequence of windows on all sides. Inside, the school is bright and open to provide a space where everyone can study and exchange ideas. The bevy of windows also lets light easily flow into the atrium and classrooms. They also provide a view of the river that’s adjacent to the campus.
